Here's the thing: I didn't start as a designer.
I'm an entrepreneur's kid. My dad was a successful serial entrepreneur, and growing up, I watched him run his businesses from the inside. I saw the daily operations, the importance of structure, relationship-building, problem-solving, and, yeah, the burnout that comes with being a small-business owner.
That shaped everything about how I see business.
I spent most of my career in Fortune 500 and mid-sized companies, learning systems and operations at scale. But I couldn't shake the pull of entrepreneurship. So I started side businesses, subcontracted, and eventually formed my own LLC as a Certified Business Coach. I worked with small business owners—the underdogs, the people willing to bet on themselves despite the overwhelm.
And here's what I kept seeing: brilliant, talented founders with solid operations were still struggling to attract the right clients.
Why?
Because their websites didn't reflect the professional, strategic businesses they'd built.
They'd either DIY'd something years ago that no longer fit, hired a designer who made it "pretty" but not functional, or were stuck on a platform they couldn't manage themselves. Their digital presence was completely out of sync with their actual expertise.
That's when I had my "aha" moment: a website isn't just design. It's architecture.
It's mapping the customer journey. It's understanding how people move through your business. It's translating messy ideas into structured systems. And I already knew how to do that—I'd just been doing it in the backend instead of the frontend.
So I made the shift. I merged my systems brain with strategic web design, and Refresh Design Studios was born.
It's a small tribute to my dad, too.

So I build in buffer time. I guide you through content creation with a structured workbook (no more staring at blank Google Docs). I present your homepage first, so we're aligned on direction before I build the rest.
And here's the thing: I'm not just a "hire me, and I'll handle it" designer. I'm collaborative. I ask questions. I push back (kindly) when something won't work for your users. I treat you like the intelligent business owner you are, not someone who needs to be talked down to about "tech stuff."
